'Sonnemond' collection a blend of class, elegance & style

Today’s women desire the most contemporary and fashionable outfits for each occasion, which at the same time reflects their inner-beauty and on the same time reveal their class and attitude. This is what is Fashion Designer Sanmeet Arora’s Label “Sonnemond”, a perfect blend of Royal Class, Elegance, Designs and Style.

This most astonishing collection was revealed on 11th Nov 2008 at Capitol-The Ashoka, New Delhi for the first time on Ramp by models like Joey Mathew, Amanpreet Wahi, Himani Thapa, Barkha Kaul, Sahiba Singh, Tia, Muskan & Alka.

What is Sonnemond? “During my visit to Germany, I came across with the word ‘Sonne’ which means SUN and ‘Mond’ which means MOON. These words clicked in my mind and I decided to make them as my brand name “Sonnemond”, which is a Day & Night fashion where sun reflects the Warmth & Brightness of day and night imitate the dark and coolness”, says Sanmeet Arora; recipient of Outstanding Designer of the Year award 2007 at JD Annual Awards 2007 (JD Institute of Fashion Designing, Mumbai), which was presented by Film Director Madhur Bhandarkar.

Sanmeet Arora’s “Sonnemond” through the “Haute Couture”-the theme of the Fashion Show gave the feel of mix periods together in an anachronistic way where the crowd rediscovered a youthful freshness and different colors of life.

The entire show was divided into 7 sequences and each sequence had some inspiration behind it. The first sequence “CANVAS COLLECTION” was inspired by Designer Sanmeet Arora’s Mom who loves to paint the Canvas with different colors. Fabrics used in the Collection are Silk Satin, Net, Poly Lycra and other fine fabrics, this collection is made after the given a lot of thought on different prints and colors which make them Colorful Canvas.

The inspiration behind the Second Sequence “WHITE FEATHER” wass lonely white Cockatoo (Australian Bird); a symbol of meditation and calmness. This collection gave the feel of peace and also added class and oomph of elegance and richness. The fabrics used were Silk Satin, Net and Knit.

“MUD IS ALWAYS BROWN” was the theme of Designer Sanmeet Arora’s third sequence which was inspired by the different shades of mud in its light and dark form. Apt to the theme of the entire show viz. “Haute Couture” the collection of this theme was made by the fabrics like Silk, Leatherette, Net and other fine fabrics.

Who doesn’t excite with shore of the ocean, larger than life, with different mood. “COLORS OF BLUE OCEAN” was the fourth sequence of the show. In designer’s own words, “I’ve seen different shades of blue in the same sea. Sometimes it looks a bit light blue and sometime the other side is dark blue. Waves come out with a pinch of whiteness and same colors are of the shells in the sea. I have tried to experiment lots of fabric in this collection to give a look of shades of blue of the same sea.” The fabric used in the garments were Satin, Net, Silk, Cotton and Denim.

Carbando was the inspiration behind the designer’s fifth sequence viz. “BLACK DIAMOND”. Black is a symbol of glamour which can be worn in all kind of parties and occasions. The collection was the perfect blend of Silk, Net and Leatherette fabric.

Playing with his favorite color i.e. Black and White with novel designing was Sanmeet Arora’s “SIGNATURE COLLECTION” which was the sixth sequence of the show. According to him, “Everything starts from black & white. Black absorbs everything and white reflects everything. Although the characteristics of two colors are just opposite to each other, but nothing looks better than the combination of two. The fabrics used were: Net. Knit, Satin & Silk.

The seventh and the last sequence of the evening was “LINGERIE COLLECTION”, inspired by the bold, shy and sexy attitude of the wearer in the same time. The fabric used in the Lingerie Collection was Knit, Silk and other fine fabric.

From short dresses to skirts & top and from party wear to prom and cocktails dresses and cozy lingerie collection, Sanmeet Arora’s “Sonnemond” has a lot to offer for the designer outfits’ lover.
